YAT-LONG SAM POON
SCIENCE FILMMAKER
Yat-Long Sam Poon helps scientists communicate their stories to large audiences through film and video. He has a wide variety of skills and assumes different roles depending on the project, from sound designer to editor to director! His passion for storytelling has led him to work with famous scientists, such as Neil deGrasse Tyson on StarTalk Radio.
Mr. Poon also tells other stories. He worked with the Pacific Arts Movement to create a series titled “Stories from Little Saigon” where he explores the tales of immigrants living in an urban community.
Mr. Poon is also a professor of biology at San Diego Miramar College and has a passion for teaching as well as science outreach.
