DR. WILLIAM TARPEH
CHEMICAL ENGINEER
Have you ever wondered what happens to water that goes down the drain? That "waste" water has many valuable products in it, like the fertilizers, disinfectants, and industrial chemicals we use every day. Dr. William Tarpeh designs new technologies to selectively recover these valuable products from wastewater. By turning pollutants into products, we can reduce impacts on the environment, save money, and help people all over the world have clean water and toilets!
Dr. Tarpeh does not measure his success against others; he compares himself only to his previous level of success, striving to improve himself in any way he can.
Dr. Tarpeh is an assistant professor at Stanford University. His card was developed by CAPTS and former Hoover High student Arianna G.
