Learning Squared lesson Extensions
Science Delivered and Elementary Institute of Science (EIS), in collaboration with the California Reading and Literature Project (CRLP), run the Learning Squared (L2) project in multiple San Diego elementary schools. L2 provides twelve weeks of classroom visits. Lesson extensions have been created for in between visits. L2 is still in development. Below we have posted lesson extensions for our 2nd grade Properties of Materials unit.
Some of the extensions are directly related to the weekly visits, but others can be used for any Properties of Materials unit. We aim to eventually post lessons plans for our weekly hands-on, literacy-integrated programming. Because the lesson extensions are specifically developed to go along with direct programming provided to L2 classrooms, some of the files may not be useful for non-L2 classrooms. However, many of the extensions will be helpful for all classrooms.
