JILL MEYERS
AEROSPACE ENGINEER
An aviation consultant and professional public speaker, Jill Meyers works tirelessly to support aviation organizations while serving as a role model for girls and women in aviation and aerospace careers. In fact, in 2017, Meyers supported the first-ever female commercial pilot from Afghanistan, Shaesta Waiz, in fulfilling her dream of flying solo around the world.
Meyers has received several honors to acknowledge her outstanding contributions to her field. In 2019, she was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), and in 2021 she was elected to the Academy of Distinguished Alumni at the University of Texas at Austin.
Meyers obtained her Private Pilot’s License at 17. She joined the Air Force for eight years, before deciding to pursue engineering. As an aerospace engineer, she has helped build and test many airplanes including small jets for business travel and big jets for the military. She even participated in the development of the newest fighter jet, the F-35.
Meyers is incredibly passionate about photography. In her alumni interview with UT Austin, where she earned her BS in Aerospace Engineering, she mentions her passion for “travel photography” as one of the things people don’t know about her.
In 2022, Meyers was the recipient of the National Aeronautic Association's Katharine Wright Trophy, honoring “… her 40 years of dedication to the aerospace industry and her tireless commitment as a volunteer and role model, working to educate and inspire young girls around the globe.”
