DR. FEI-FEI LI
COMPUTER SCIENTIST
STEM Superheroes™ Series
Dr. Li works on artificial intelligence (AI). She teaches robots and computers to recognize images, or to “see!” Using algorithms, or mathematical instructions, she is creating a virtual library called ImageNet(R). This library has more than 15 million images that robots and computers can use. In short, Li is "teaching computers to understand pictures." The ability to recognize an environment will better the overall functionality of AI; one day, they could even become first responders to emergencies!
Dr. Li also co-founded AI4ALL, a nonprofit committed to increasing diversity in AI. They provide several college pathway programs, summer cohort programs, and mentorship to those interested in AI.
Dr Li’s card was developed in collaboration with ErinEdu.
