Dr. Maggie Teliska-Parke is a battery scientist at Enel Green Power. She got her PhD in physical chemistry from George Washington University. As a battery scientist, she investigates how to make better batteries. Batteries come in all shapes and sizes. Her work focuses on renewable energy; she studies how to store energy from the sun or wind.
As a child, Dr. Teliska-Parke was fascinated with math and chemistry. Her love of chemistry started in the kitchen as her family did experiments to create their favorite drinks and food. (Did you know that cooking involves lots of chemistry?) Today, Dr. Teliska-Parke wants all kids to be able to love and enjoy nature, and also subjects like math and chemistry! She works with organizations like Browning the Green Space to help increase diversity and perspectives in the energy sector.
