DR. ARLYNE SIMON
BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER

Dr. Simon uses her knowledge in biology and engineering (and chemistry!) to design new healthcare technologies like diagnostic tests, syringes, ultrasound machines, and more! All of these technologies allow doctors to help you when you are sick.
Dr. Simon invented a blood test that detects when cancer patients reject bone marrow transplants. She holds two patents. Patents are issued by the government when you make a brand new invention!
Dr. Simon also runs a multicultural children's products company, Abby Invents, to inspire future inventors everywhere. She writes the Abby Invents picture book series.
