ASTRONAUT, DOCTOR, and CEO
Dr. Bernard A. Harris Jr. has an incredible resume! He is an astronaut and was the first African-American to do a spacewalk. Read more about spacewalks here.
Dr. Harris has a MD, meaning he is a medical doctor. He studied muscles/musculature and what happens to muscles when they are not used enough. He studied the effects of being on space in the body with NASA.
Dr. Harris now is the CEO of the National Math and Science Initiative. NMSI works to promote math and science education for young students.
